Evergreen Air Center receives FAAs Diamond Award for second year in a row
(Marana, AZ) February 14, 2005 - Evergreen Air Center will receive the Federal Aviation Administrations (FAAs) Diamond Award, the highest award FAA presents for excellence in aviation maintenance training. The award will be presented by Ron Rosenhahn, FAA Unit Supervisor, at the Air Center on Wednesday, February 16th, 2005.
The FAAs Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards program is designed to encourage aviation maintenance technicians and their employers to take advantage of initial and recurrent training. The Diamond Award is given to companies who have their employees participate in such training and recognizes a level of advanced aircraft maintenance training beyond compulsory FAA requirements.
"This award reflects the Air Centers dedication to excellence and continuous improvement by our technicians, managers, and training staff," says Evergreen Air Center President Bob McAndrew. "In partnership with the FAA, Evergreen Air Center is committed to providing the aviation industry with the highest level of safety and professionalism in aviation maintenance."
Over 130 of the more than 400 full time and contract technicians employed by Evergreen Air Center qualified for individual awards under the FAA Aviation Maintenance Technician program. These awards included 44 Bronze (6 -11 hrs of training), 17 Silver (12-15 hours of training), 18 Gold (26 - 59 hours of training), 51 Ruby (60 - 99 hours of training) and two Diamond (100 plus hours). The awards given are based on the hours accumulated over calendar year 2004.
